World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrade allows players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the power of the equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.

Cost

Glyphs, which are placed in gathering tools can be swapped without any restrictions.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button that has a rerolling arrow, a player can roll it into an upgradeable item. This alters the layout of the item's window and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled will be exchanged with an item of level 1 similar to it. Recycled items won't keep their level, nor the resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier as well as its quality. Uncommon items can be upgraded up to a maximum of level six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine.
